First of all, welcome! UF EDGE has been providing courses through the College of Engineering since 1982. Any success we have is due to the quality of teaching provided by the faculty of the college. Our mission is to transmit your course clearly and completely to students seeking degrees in a distance learning environment. We hope we can make your teaching experience through UF EDGE rewarding for both you and your students.
For teaching courses in UF EDGE, use this website as your first stop for finding information about teaching UF EDGE courses.
Since Fall 2005 we provided our lecture videos through WebCT Vista, a course management tool. Beginning Fall 2007, Academic Technology has upgraded this course management tool which is now labeled “e-Learning System”. For more information about the “e-Learning System” go to e-Learning Support Services. Prior to the beginning of each semester UFEDGE creates all the courses within the e-Learning system for courses offered through UFEDGE. If faculties have their own web page a link will be provided within this course management tool.
Faculty Handbook
You might have received the Faculty Handbook via email during the beginning of the semester. If not, you'll find the Faculty Handbook very useful in preparing for and teaching UF EDGE classes. The Faculty Handbook is in Microsoft Word format. Click here to download the Faculty Handbook.
Exams and Exam Processing
In addition to the Faculty Handbook, you may want to review the Powerpoint presentation on preparing for and administering exams for UF EDGE students. This presentation answers many questions about the best way to handle the exam process, and what rules exist for how exams should be administered. Click here to download the Exam Powerpoint.
